••• This Friday, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., is your last chance to see “Plastic Rubber + Wood” at Tribeca Project Space—the gallery inside the Artisan Lofts lobby—before it closes to make way for a new show, “The Garden,” themed around the Garden of Eden (it opens Feb. 28, with an opening reception on Mar. 12). Remember, the space is generally open by appointment only (631-838-4843). Above: Reckoning II by Jane Martin.
••• Brandy Library has four seats left for tonight’s Tequila and Mezcal Class (6:30–9 p.m.). If that’s not you thing, the Library is also celebrating Armagnac Week—OK, why not?—with extra Armagnac flights and a pairing with foie gras. Plus: Two new Intro to Scotch classes have been added, on Wednesday, Mar. 10, and Friday, Mar. 19.

IN THE NEWS
••• The March issue of Outside magazine has a first-person tale by Eric Hansen about learning to box—the hard way—at Church Street Gym. It’s not online, from what I can tell, but I can email anyone a PDF.
••• Wall Street Journal and New York magazine report from the Thom Browne runway show, where the designer revealed that he’s in a racoon-tail phase.

One-named “professional location artist” Borbay is working on a painting of the Tribeca Grand Hotel, a commission for the CEO and founder of Bevforce—a company that, from what I can tell, helps bartenders find jobs. His blog details the progress so far (above).

STEALS AND DEALS
••• Vestry Wines is offering 10 percent off a $45 bottle of Old Tom gin, which is made “in the style of Old Tom gins of the 1800’s” and “a far cry from your standard London Dry Gin of the modern day bar.” Personally, I love Tanqueray—if only for the color of the bottle….
