Seen & Heard: By Robert James

••• American Apparel deal on Buywithme: $25 for $50 credit, in store or online.

••• Next Thursday, “Simple, Honest, Handsome” menswear line By Robert James is opening a “satellite store” at the John Allan’s Tribeca salon. Does the model have a black eye—maybe he got too close to his mirror?—or did he forget to do the rest of his makeup?

••• On Apr. 11 at 1 p.m., you can Zumba for Japan at Do Yoga Do Pilates. Related, on Grub Street: “Ward III will do its part to help the disaster-stricken with “A Whisky Benefit for Japan Earthquake & Pacific Tsunami Relief,” taking place this Saturday, from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will include cocktails, whisky tastings, snacks, a silent auction, and a raffle. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased here.”

••• Speaking of Ward III! I just saw this Craigslist “Missed Connections” ad on Twitter and it cracked me up (M4M Tribeca ones usually take place in the steam room at Equinox): “i feel really bad that i couldn’t talk to you more. your friend came over and i gave my number to her for you. so why haven’t you called yet!?!? you’re so cute! i bet you like things like bikes and specialty coffee. date me!” In my experience, saying “date me!” rarely works.

••• David Bouley’s upcoming Brushstroke restaurant added a sign. I posted a photo in Progress Report: Southern Tribeca.
