Loft Peeping: 2011 Loft Tour Preview No. 1

At this morning’s press preview for the 12th-annual Inside Tribeca Loft Tour—a benefit for Friends of Duane Park, which is responsible for taking care of the park—I got to check out three apartments (of the ten on the tour). David and Jaime Weiswasser bought the 2,400-square-foot apartment in 2002, but there was no certificate of occupancy, so they couldn’t move in until 2005, after a total reno. Their decorator was Jennifer Coleman of JKC Designs. A few of the highlights for me:

• Wonderful art and Americana
• Industrial Tribeca details
• Elevator opens to apartment—but there’s also a stairway that goes from the apartment to the street (handy for bikes!)
• Cute girls’ room with dress-up closet and vanity
• Photo gallery on elevator door
• Such a kitchen!
• Louis the French bulldog (alas, people on the loft tour won’t get to meet him)

The self-guided tour is Oct. 16 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. But tickets now at duanepark.org for $50, or you can pay $55 at 12:30 p.m. on the day of the event at the park. Only 400 tickets are available, and the tour usually sells out.
