These photos make me shake my head in wonder at those who reminisce fondly about the 70′s and 80′s – the ‘glory’ days of Tribeca, before it was ‘ruined’ by renovation, restoration and the arrival of amenities such as grocery and drug stores.
@Andrea – I don’t think we miss the “desolation”, but we do miss the sense of community, the freedom, the quiet, the space and, most importantly, the affordability. Those of us who lived down there pine for those “glory days” because we experienced the things you can’t glean from a few scruffy photos. Quite honestly, I’d take the desolation over three different dog salons any day!
