Seen & Heard: American Flatbread Update

fika 82412••• An update from Håkan Martensson of Fika chocolatier/café: “We ran in to some big problems with Hurricane Sandy and everything got delayed. Our Pearl Street location got completely destroyed and the Tribeca location was flooded as well. Anyway, the Tribeca location is almost finished though and it will be up and running in the end of January.” The new spot will be in Truffles—wait, how fantastic is it that a chocolatier is opening in a building called Truffles? How had I missed that before?

••• American Flatbread Tribeca Hearth, meanwhile, is now looking at opening mid-January. It’s also put up some rather philosophical temporary signage in its windows (at Hudson and Desbrosses).

••• From the World Financial Center: “As of December 27, both Cosi Sandwich Bar and Erwin Pearl have closed in preparation for renovations to the World Financial Center Complex.”
