Summer Sale Report

Haus Alkire

I generally cover sales as advertising, but I thought I’d make an exception this summer. (Support local businesses!) And if you see a juicy sale—or if your shop is having a sale anytime before Labor Day—send me the info to tribecacitizen@gmail.com.

Cosmopolitan Café
The charming little café at 95 W. Broadway, has to close soon, so this Wednesday, June 19, there will be two sales. First up, at 2:30 p.m., is an auction of kitchen equipment and fixtures. Then, from 4 to 8 p.m., comes a tag sale of vintage Tribeca, café, and soda fountain collectibles in the bigger café’s secret back room (enter around the corner at 125 Chambers). You’re also welcome to stop by Monday or Tuesday for a private viewing. Owner Craig Bero says he’ll be treating visitors to the sale to ice cream: grasshopper (a family recipe for three generations), strawberry and Champagne punch, and Door County, Wisc., cherry crêpe.

Korin
Korin is having a knife sale in July: All knives (excluding Glestain and clearance items) will be 15% off, and Korin is offering free initial sharpening on all orders.
