A Bit of Austria on Walker Street

mondaytosunday-1ThomasFeichtner_TramChair_03_300rgbI recently noticed that the lights appeared to be out at OLighting, at 40 Walker, and sure enough, Crain’s reports that Michael and Anna Trubrig are moving from Austria to open a store there. Called Stillfried Wien, it will sell furniture, interior accessories, and “selected lifestyle products, like Mühlbauer hats,” says Michael, who I managed to bother as he and his family were packing for the move. The products will be “mainly from Austria, but also from the rest of German-speaking Europe.” Manufacturers include Ton, Lichterloh, Wittmann, Team 7, Perludi, Auboeck, Rainer, Lobmeyr, Augarten, Wiener Silbermanufactur, Hussl, and many more.

The doors should open around late September.

From top: The Monday to Sunday from Pernhaupt (manufacturer is Lichterloh); the Tram chair from Thomas Feichtner (manufacturer is Ton); Mühlbauer’s Graf Theo straw hat.
