Seen & Heard: Stitched Tribeca Is Open

courtesy Stitched Tribeca••• Stitched Tribeca, the new crafting store/studio on Warren, is opening Oct. 1. I’ll check it out soon.

••• @effiespaper says that doors went in at Terra wine bar, opening next to Pecan (where a bunch of Italian restaurants have lately been).

••• The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in the old Radio Shack space at Broadway and Reade looks ready to open any day (if it hasn’t already).

••• From @ConciergeBeCa: “New simply named ‘Restaurant at Smyth’ is now open in the old @PleinSudNYC space at @Smyth_TriBeCa.”

••• I posted the answer to last week’s Where in Tribeca…? (which no one guessed). Thanks again, John Willenbecher!

••• I was listening to Elmore Leonard’s Up in Honey’s Room on CD during a long drive—can’t recommend Leonard enough for this purpose—and I was tickled to hear that he had named a character Otto Penzler (who says that he plans to open a bookstore devoted to mysteries.)

••• From Espasso: “This Friday, Espasso is opening to the public the first major New York exhibit for Brazilian furniture designer Zanini de Zanine. It will be the first time ever, in the US or abroad, his works will be shown alongside original furniture pieces by his father late, legendary designer José Zanine Caldas.”
