He hid the merchandise in his pants and jacket and then attempted to leave the store with an accomplice. When confronted, the man with the hidden items struck the victim on the left side of his face, causing lacerations. The victim told police that the robber had told him he had a knife.” Also: an elevator robbery that is one my consistent nightmares.

••• Fashionista says that Spring Studios on Varick is luring fashion shows away from Lincoln Center: “Following rumors that they were looking for alternatives to their usual show venue, The Theatere [sic?] at Lincoln Center, both Michael Kors and Diane von Furstenberg have settled on Spring Studios, WWD reports. […] According to the trade, Calvin Klein will show at the venue again.” Hey, Spring! I still want to come and take photos!

••• South Soho bar Naked Lunch has closed, to “be replaced by the Regent Cocktail Club, a classic cocktail bar which LDV Hospitality (Scarpetta, No. 8 [and American Cut]) opened in the Regent Hotel in Miami last year. The Soho branch is expected to mimic the Miami original, with cocktails and light food.” —Eater
