No More Mexican Seafood Restaurant

The Churrascaria Tribeca space won’t be a Mexican seafood restaurant after all. That deal fell through, and the Dan Abrams project does not involve Robert Collins (formerly of Lure), despite what I had inferred from a phone call to Lure.

From the New York Post: “It looks like media titans Dave Zinczenko and Dan Abrams are cooking up another restaurant. The longtime pals (and ABC newsmen), who partnered on The Lion on West Ninth Street [are] already in talks with some of the city’s top chefs and that Christine Cole, longtime general manager of BondSt, has partnered with the duo to run the joint. The menu will be farm-to-table with an extensive wine list.” I spoke with Cole, who said that she’s calling it “and American bistro,” and that the to-be-determined name will reference the building’s history and/or Tribeca.

According to someone who attended last night’s CB1 Tribeca meeting, they’re only serving alcohol till 1 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and they won’t be using the entrance on White.
