Nosy Neighbor: What’s That on Top of the New Museum?

This isn’t even remotely Tribeca, but who else am I going to ask? The New Museum has these structures on top it, and they weren’t there when it opened, so I’m guessing they’re not structural. Are they art? —T.

They are indeed art: “This is a sculpture titled Twin Quasi Legal Skyscrapers by Chris Burden,” emailed a rep from the museum. “They were installed upon the opening of a survey of the artist’s work in October 2013.” And they’re up indefinitely.
