Adiós, Burro Borracho
I’m sorry to report that Burro Borracho, the hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant at 251 Church, has closed. It looked semi-closed for a while—the lights were only partially on at night—but the folks at neighboring Kori confirmed that it has shut its doors for good. I’ll miss the rajas quesadilla….

I’m sorry to see it go. I live more or less upstairs from it, and when up against a deadline it was very convenient and inexpensive, and open until 11:00! The people were lovely as well. Sad note is that they gamely tried to reinvent themselves as a destination recently, rather than take-out, with subdued decor and candles on the table.
Burro Borracho was a wonderful place, we will really miss the excellent burritos and guacamole mostly it’s so sad to see a family owed restaurant close. It was a neighborhood gem that had great authentic Mexican food.
