Seen & Heard: Ethical Pop-Up

••• New Yorkers for Parks is giving away daffodil bulbs: “free to civic organizations, individuals, corporate volunteer groups, schools, and community leaders who commit to planting them in a park or public space such as a schoolyard, street tree pit, or community garden.” Register here.

••• Three brands—Victoria Road, Popinjay, and Ode—are having an “ethical pop-up” on Thursday. See image.

••• After I posted the September Community Board 1 agendas, revised ones came out. The only changes of note were two “physical culture” (i.e., gym) permits for 14 Wall (Equinox, which must have never done this) and 113 Nassau (Equinox’s cheaper Blink Fitness chain).

••• And a reader found this page for Joseph Crotty, who is the name on the application for a liquor license at 20 Warren.

••• Theatre Alley sure would make a good name for Tom Colicchio’s new restaurant at the Beekman Hotel (since it’s at the corner of Beekman and Theatre Alley.)

  1. I thought that was the Pastis location and Colicchio’s new restaurant would be at the corner of Beekman and Nassau. I could be wrong. :-)

  2. Ha! It IS a great name for a restaurant. You inspired me to post about the inspiration for Theatre Alley on FiDi Fan Page! It is the old Park Theatre which opened on 1798 on Park Row! https://www.facebook.com/groups/126993340709079/
