Seen & Heard: New York Academy of Art’s Stylish Makeover

••• This Saturday (Oct. 11) at Washington Market Park: The Lower Manhattan Community Church is throwing a Pumpkin Patch party with free pumpkins, games and crafts (including pumpkin decorating), and refreshments. It’s 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

••• Did we know there were listings for the Beekman Residences (the big tower going up next to 5 Beekman) on StreetEasy? With lots of floorplans? Here’s the most expensive (so far), the two-bedroom A line on floors 40 through 49, for $3.8 million.

The Beekman Residences 40-49A floorplan••• While I was on TRA Studio‘s website looking up info on 173 W. Broadway and 6 Cortlandt Alley, I noticed a plan to make serious changes to the New York Academy of Art on Franklin. The revamp “is a long phased effort,” says architect Caterina Roiatti. “The storefront has been presented and approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission in January of this year, but the addition is still in preliminary design—it has not been presented to LPC and there are no set dates.” Still, worth a look! I love the design on the western façade (overlooking the Con Ed substation).
