In the News: Yet Another Hotel Right Above Canal

••• The Wall Street Journal has a big advertorial article about how businesses on Renwick are thrilled about the near total-redevelopment of the block; it doesn’t mention the Department of Sanitation garage or the Spring Street Salt Shed, just to the west. Also of note: Besides the newish Hotel Hugo on Greenwich and the hotel(s?) that fronts Renwick and Hudson (325 rooms, says the WSJ), “Tommie Hotel, a division of Commune Hotels, will open a 329-room hotel at 231 Hudson St. next summer.” (Tommie is aimed at young, “value-conscious travelers”) (And this is as well as the hotel being opened by two soccer stars at 219 Hudson?)
