The Restaurants and Food Shops Coming to the World Trade Center
The New York Post got the scoop on food shops and restaurants opening in the World Trade Center retail complex. The big ones:
••• Eataly: 41,000 square feet in 4 World Trade Center.
••• Epicerie Boulud: 2,000 square feet on a balcony in the Oculus. Some seating, but mostly takeaway. (It had been searching for a space down here for along time.)
••• Jones the Grocer (above): “Australia-based, high-end emporium” taking 11,000 square feet two levels below Eataly. I fondly recall going to one when I went to Sydney years and years ago….
Evidently 4WTC also has a “food market” (akin to a Japanese food hall?):
••• Lore Wine & Spirits, from City Hall restaurant’s Henry Meer
••• K Minamoto: Japanese confectioner. Presumably that’s this?
••• Beer Table, which you may know from Grand Central Terminal
••• Nobletree, a “new coffee concept”
••• Nunu Chocolates (which you may recall from All Good Things)
Two companies with Tribeca outposts are doubling down: Fika is opening a street-level café at 4WTC (on Cortlandt) and La Colombe will open in the Oculus. (Kind of a lot of coffee, eh?)
The Post then has a paragraph about the West Gallery, which I think it what Westfield had been calling the West Corridor—the passageway from the PATH station to Brookfield Place. It “will have Devon & Blakely on the ground floor”—D&B had been in Brookfield Place before it upgraded (or is it still there? UPDATE: Anne commented that yes, D&B—and Au Bon Pain—are still at Brookfield Place)—and the balcony level will be home to yet another Pret a Manger, British chain Wasabi Sushi and Bento, Joe Coffee, and Treat House, a bakery specializing in puffed rice treats (below).
One has to assume there will also be sit-down restaurants; we’ll have to wait to see….

Any word on Bourdain’s market?
No.
Bourdain has been oddly quiet. There were three sites most rumored to be the home for his food hall: 3 WTC, The American Stock Exchange and Hudson Yards. A food hall is also planned for the South Street Seaport and it is always possible that could be a possibility but HHC has not announced any retailers at all and isn’t expected to do so anytime soon.
which one is the Oculus? The fulton station or the stegasaurus?
While the Fulton Center has an oculus, the structure at the WTC that looks like an armadillo is called the Oculus.
No retail at the Fulton Center has been announced yet.
Yes, Devon & Blakely (and Au Bon Pain) are still at Brookfield Place (or 1 World Financial Center, as most might know it). It is on the second level, next to Starbucks and across the lobby from Au Bon Pain.
