In the News: Vogue’s New Office Has a Rat Problem

1WTC••• “Multiple sources tell Gawker that the offices of Vogue, located on floors 25 and 26 of 1WTC, are dealing with a rat infestation. The infestation is so acute, one source said, that the fashion title’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, recently issued a standing order: Staffers must ensure that her personal office is rat-free before she enters it.”

••• The New York Times has a fascinating article about the drama surrounding David Krone, an aide to Senator Harry Reid; Krone and his wife, Alyssa Mastromonaco, recently bought a place in Tribeca. (She was in the news recently for leaving the White House for Vice.)

••• From Notify NYC: “FDNY will be conducting a full scale exercise tomorrow morning on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the 9/11 Museum in Manhattan. The exercise will occur between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. You can expect to see numerous emergency responders and equipment in the area. This is only a drill.”

••• According to the Downtown Post, someone has been doing an amateurish telephone survey about the proposed Seaport development. UPDATE: I just got the call. The very young guy asked if I was in a certain age bracket, and I said yes, but I guess I wasn’t (who can remember?), because then they asked what year I was born, and I was declared too old.

••• The Institute of Culinary Education’s new facility at Brookfield Place will have “an artisanal chocolate studio, complete with a full range of ‘bean to bar’ equipment.” Read all about it.

  2. the whole site has a rat problem. Silverstein used to warn their guests before doing hard hat tours.
