Seen & Heard: Lunch at Da Claudio

••• Da Claudio starts weekday lunch service today. When I get the menu I’ll post it here. (Above: the salumeria counter.) UPDATE: Here it is.

••• Remember that fantastic gingerbread version of 6o Beach? The baker responsible has agreed to do one to benefit Tribeca Trust, and it could be your building. The starting bid on eBay is $100. Maybe someone in the Gehry building would like to test the baker’s skills…?

••• Added to the agenda for the Community Board 1 Tribeca Committee meeting on Wednesday (Dec. 10): “Application for restaurant wine and beer license for DBTG Chambers LLC d/b/a Dirty Bird to Go – Resolution”

••• Manhattan Youth’s Downtown Community Center on Warren is running a toy and clothing drive for the Single Parent Resource Center.

••• The NYC Yogurt store on Broadway has become a Verizon store (which is what it had been before its yogurt phase). As Andrea reports, the one on Fulton is taking a different tack: “It’s now both a wireless store and a self-serve yogurt store.”

  1. Mustard and Mayo on the same sandwich? Just say ‘no’.

  2. I hope Da Claudio gets their act together. I really want to them to do well, but the food they turned out on Sat night was just bad. Our pasta was so overcooked, which is a total rookie mistake for an Italian restaurant. It was also full of tourists and kids.

  3. Actually, I wanted to say thanks for the heads-up about lunch at Da Claudio. I was there with a friend on Monday and lunch was very good, with excellent sandwiches. The staff was friendly and helpful and the comic art decor is decidedly fun.
