Seen & Heard: Matt Bernson Gift Bazaar

••• Matt Bernson is throwing a Gift Guide Shopping Event on Tuesday (6-9 p.m.): “We will be offering 50% off our shoes that evening. Brands joining us for the event will be: Adopted with their luxe leather phone cases, Au Rate fine gold jewelry, Naadam cashmere, and Worth & Worth hats will be doing in-store fittings showcasing exclusive hat styles with an appearance by the hatmaker, Orlando Palacios. Bar Cyrk will also be providing food and cocktails for the evening.” Matt was showing me his Adopted iPhone case the other day—it’s the only one I’ve ever been tempted to buy.

••• Given the conflict of interest—one of the contenders to run North Cove Marina is a close friend of Governor Cuomo, to which the Battery Park City Authority reports—it’s hard not to support this petition: “Open up the RFP process for North Cove to provide transparency and community input. Stay true to their mission statement and award the lease of North Cove Marina to the company we can trust to best serve the downtown community.”

••• I don’t think these two items were previously on the agenda for Community Board 1’s Seaport/Civic Center meeting on Monday:

—Reconstruction of South Street South – Presentation by NYC EDC
—77 Fulton Street, application for a wine and beer license for 77 Fulton Bakery Inc. d/b/a Lot 77 – Resolution

••• I heard a while back that 508 Gastrobrewery on Greenwich between Spring and Canal was on the market, and now I hear a deal is close to done. Can’t quite find out with whom. If you know, tip me at 917-209-6473 or tribecacitizen@gmail.com.

••• The Reade side of the Reade Chambers is looking good. It’s going to be a nice addition.
