JCP Camp and Summer Programs 2015: “Downtown is My Playground!”

JCP offers a fun-filled camp experience for young children ages two-and-a-half through five years old. Our program provides a secure, caring, creative, and joyful environment. While at JCP, campers will spend their time building friendships, community, and great memories. Children will participate in a variety of activities each week including arts and crafts, water play, tennis, music, and drama.

New this summer: JCP Camp introduces Kayiz 2015, our Hebrew Language Camp Initiative. All JCP campers will take part in a Hebrew language specialty program and will have additional exposure to Hebrew language, vocabulary, and music during their camp days. In addition, All-Camp Kabbalat Shabbat will take place each Friday. All campers will come together to feel the community spirit and sing Shabbat songs. At registration, parents may pre-order challah for their child to take home each Friday, carrying over the Shabbat feeling from camp to home.

Our camp staff are highly trained and experienced early childhood educators who bring creativity and excitement to each camp day.

Welcome to our summer 2015 My Grown Up & Me programming!
We are excited to announce the return of Sing Me a Story, last summer’s sold-out hit class for the youngest members of our JCP community. In addition, please join us for Summer Play Together! a new summer version of our popular JCPlay and JCP Together classes. Both are held at JCP’s 146 Duane St. location.

Sing Me a Story
An exciting summer class for children ages six months to three years and their grown-ups! Join Wendy Gelsanliter, Associate Director of the Early Childhood Center, for finger plays, songs, and stories on Thursday mornings during camp. In addition to working with young children in school settings, Wendy has produced three CDs for children and their families: Dancin’ in the Kitchen, Ants Wear Underpants, and I’m Hungry I Need a Bandaid.

Summer Play Together!
Following in the tradition of our much-loved JCPlay and JCP Together classes that meet during the year, we are excited to introduce this expansion of our summer programming. In this special group time for toddlers and their grown-ups, children will gain self-confidence as they play alongside each other in a classroom environment with JCP Staff and their adults nearby. Class routine includes free play, snack, circle time, story time and gross motor play, allowing for practice in smooth transitions and opportunities for exploration of materials.
