Two Hands Is Opening a Café Here

courtesy Two Hands1251 churchRemember when a worker at the former Burro Borracho space on Church said an Australian café was opening there, and I assumed he meant the Austrian Martin Auer’s Bakehouse next door? Well, guess what.

The Australian café Two Hands, which has a location on Mott Street, is indeed opening there. (Tagline: “Good food by good dudes.”) Check out the menu of the Mott Street one below; with Açai bowls, avo toast, smoothies, it’s like a trip to Sydney. We’ll learn more about the plans on May 13 when they present their liquor-license application at the Community Board 1 Tribeca Committee on May 13.

P.S. There’s a nice Q&A with the “good dudes” here.

  1. Great news. Acai bowls in the neighborhood – yay.

  2. Excellent, a decent replacement for the late, lamented Blue Bottle outlet in All Good Things (remember that?!).

  3. Like Two Hands, but it’s very similar to Gotan in concept…
Although I’m sure TriBeCa can support them both
