Newsletter: May 15

courtesy TOASTTOAST ART WALK IS THIS WEEKEND
You’re getting a bonus newsletter because (a) a lot happened yesterday, and (b) I just realized that the 19th-annual T.O.A.S.T.—the Tribeca Open Artist Studio Tour (warning: the site plays Radiohead)—starts today and runs through Monday. It’s free and it’s fun—open houses rather than a tour per se—and Tribeca’s artists can use all the support they can get. (I don’t know whose studio is pictured; I got it off the event’s Facebook page. UPDATE: That’s CJ Collins’s studio at 71 Leonard, featuring her work and neon work by Marco Guglielmino.)

The home decor store/showroom Art et Maison is leaving Tribeca after 12 years on N. Moore. They’re having a big relocation sale, but don’t dilly-dally: They’re pushing to stay until May 30, but they may be gone sooner.
