Nosy Neighbor: What’s in the Base of 7 World Trade Center?

I assume the base of 7 World Trade Center is the way it is for security purposes, but is there anything inside there? —A.

The bottom six floors of 7 World Trade Center house a Con Edison substation, while floors 7 to 9 hold the building’s mechanicals. The offices start on the 10th floor (where I recently visited the World Trade Center design studio).
