In the News: 100 Franklin Gets the Go-Ahead

••• 100 Franklin developer “DDG received permission from the city’s Board of Standards and Appeals, granting it the ability to utilize the full size of the lot without having to set back the buildings’ upper floors from the sidewalk, which is required by the site’s zoning but is difficult given their slender forms.” This is the building on the two triangular parking lots on Sixth Ave. between White and Franklin; it’ll have 10 apartments and retail along Sixth. “As part of the project, a charitable arm of DDG is providing funds to turn the pedestrian island formed by the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Church Street, across the street from the project, into a small park.” —Crain’s (Update: Architect’s Newspaper got another rendering, added above)

••• Eater has pix of Parm at Brookfield Place, although “much of Parm’s dining room is still closed off for the time being, but seating at the counter is open.” The dine-in menu is at right, and the takeout menu is in Eater’s post. I need to find out if they’ll be delivering, because that could be a game-changer. UPDATE: Heard back from the rep. “We do deliver and will begin soon.”

  1. What an ugly pos

  2. Great to hear that the developer, DDG, is planning on a re-do of the small greenstreet park across from the new building. I hope the “not for profit” arm of DDG will also established a trust for maintenance of the park. Creating a park is only the beginning! What follows determines if it is successful.

  3. I park on that lot – we are all getting kicked out Friday, and they were core drilling today – it’s on!
