New Kid on the Block: The Wooly Daily

The Wooly DailyThe Wooly Daily paintingThis was a delightful surprise: The Wooly, the event space inside the Woolworth Building (and affiliated with Woolworth Kitchen), has opened a very cool little coffee bar on Barclay Street. The art direction at the Wooly Daily is clearly a labor of love, from the artworks on the wall to the neon light to the coffee cups—to everything. (The pictures don’t do the details justice.) The coffee is La Colombe, prepared with a La Marzocco machine; the tea is Rishi; the pastries come from Ovenly. Hours are currently 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.—seven days a week, rare in southeast Tribeca—but that may change.

The Wooly Daily is at 11 Barclay (between Broadway and Church); thewooly.com.
