Seen & Heard: Maman Is Actually Opening Next Week

••• The block of W. Broadway between Franklin and Leonard—a.k.a. the FreshDirect parking lot—is getting new trees today. I think we can thank the Friends of Finn Square for making this happen.

Kamakura Shirts••• From the Port Authority via CB1: “On December 13, from 5:30am to 8:30am The Port Authority of NY & NJ, World Trade Center Construction and FDNY will be conducting an Operational Exercise on the Fire Protective System of One World Trade Center. There will be FDNY trucks staged on the Vesey, Fulton and West Street around One World Trade Center. The public will not be effected by this exercise.”

••• Among the five solo shows opening at Soho Photo on Jan. 6 is One Scene, Many Seens by Steven Gilbert: “All are multiple-exposure photographs of a neon sign. These various aspects transform the reality of the neon sign into a collection of scenes that create a vision of something more.”
