Another New Hair Salon

Roman KOnce a salon, always a salon—or at least that’s how it appears to be around here. Last month we learned that David Adams and Frank Rizzieri are taking over the former Rheanne White Salon at 14 Jay, and now signage at 317 Church (next to La Colombe) announces that Roman K Salon is opening his second New York City salon in the space previously occupied F.S. Charlie and, before that, Rare by Ruth Roche. The first one is in the Flatiron District.

From the Roman K website:

Roman Kusayev [pictured above], Russian born, moved to New York City at the age of 9. Having grown up in a family of cosmetologists and hairdressers, his pedigree is innate. Roman began his career at the age of 17 working in one of the most prestigious hair salons in NYC, John Barrett Salon, at Bergdorf Goodman. There Roman trained along side the most talented hairdressers in the world. He took his extensive knowledge and expertise downtown as a master stylist working for Butterfly Studio and remained there honing his edge for the past 10 years.

The website also says it’ll open at the end of the month.

  1. Have you ever looked into what happened to the Nexus salon that opened on N. Moore St. over the summer and has been closed for months now? I got a great haircut there and it’s a beautiful space, but they’ve been shut since Labor Day. I called and someone told me they were hosting corporate events there and would reopen, but…nothing.
