Seen & Heard: The Greenmarket Is Gearing Up

••• It was great to see Blue Moon Fish and Lani’s Farm back at Saturday’s Tribeca Greenmarket yesterday. Lani’s even had ramps.

••• G. sends word that the Chamber Smoke Shop at 155 Chambers has closed (as foretold by the “for rent” sign). Llove the old “Chambers St Smoke Shop” sign that’s been revealed now that the awning is gone.

Chamber Smoke Shop 155 Chambers••• Congratulations to Downtown Dance Factory, which signed a lease to expand by another 3,150 feet, bringing its total space at 291 Broadway to 12,600 square feet. Seems like just yesterday it opened there….

••• From Church Street School: “We’ll soon be holding Town Hall meetings open to the community. At such an important moment in our history, our 25th year, we want to hear from the community about their dreams and hopes for our next 25 years. Join us to hear about the state of the school and the challenges before us, and share your thoughts and ideas about what we could and should be in the future. April dates: April 7 (6:30-7:30 p.m.); April 13 (9-10 a.m.); April 18 (6:30-7:30 p.m.). Meetings will be informal and limited to adults. Refreshments will be served.”

••• Starting April 5: “Come to The River Project’s Wetlab on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 2pm to 5pm for Wetlab Look-ins. The Wetlab is located on the south walkway of Pier 40. Wetlab Look-Ins are centered on an ‘estuarium’ system of live circulating river water that houses a living collection of native fishes and invertebrates, mainly focusing on the Living Oyster Reef Ecosystem Exhibit. The collection represents the biodiversity of the Hudson River Park Estuarine Sanctuary, and sometimes includes hundreds of animals.” It’s free.
