Seen & Heard: Schnippers Opens Today

••• Schnippers confirmed what Ruben learned on the street: The restaurant soft-opens today at 11 a.m., with limited hours until the official opening on Sept. 20.

••• James spotted this on Harley-Davidson of NYC’s Facebook page: “Motorcycle sales will no longer occur in our Manhattan location, however, rentals and our shop will remain open and stocked with the iconic Harley-Davidson parts and accessories, apparel and riding gear we’re famous for. Visit our showroom in Long Island City, Queens, for test rides, trade-ins, service, parts and accessories and your next Harley-Davidson!”

••• At Duane Park Patisserie, to go with the tiny hands down the street…. (Thanks to K. for the photo.)

Duane Park Patisserie Trump cookie by K••• Today (Sept. 1) at 6 p.m.: AD-65 forum (that’s Sheldon Silver’s former seat). “The New York League of Conservation Voters Education Fund will host an environmental candidate forum to discuss issues impacting Lower Manhattan. The forum will provide a unique opportunity to ask candidates where they stand on issues such as: resiliency, clean energy, parks and open space, sustainable transportation, and access to fresh and local foods. Representatives of the following organizations will each be present to ask questions: Waterfront Alliance, Transportation Alternatives, New Yorkers for Parks and the Lower East Side Ecology Center.” Let’s hope Alice Cancel has time in her busy schedule. It’s at Southbridge Towers (90 Beekman).

••• The Seaport District is having a Labor Day party on Monday (4-8 p.m.), with music by the National Reserve and Smith & 9th Ward.

  1. Hello
did you hear about something taking place today with the ice cream truck outside of Washington Park?
I heard that they raided his truck, the police, and there were police and ambulance there. Kids had mentioned he had guns too.
Did you hear anything about this.
