In the News: Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Has Closed

coffee-bean-and-tea-leaf-280-broadway••• “Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, the Los Angeles coffee shop chain that set up shop in New York a few years ago, has closed all of its stores in the city.” There was one on Broadway between Reade and Chambers. Apparently, the franchisers weren’t up to the company’s high standards. From the its statement: “It is our hope that when The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf returns to New York, the new store owners will deliver the products and service our customers have come to expect through their experiences at the other 1,000+ company-owned and franchised The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations around the world.” (The signs lie.) —West Side Rag

  1. Coffee bean & tea leaf was fabulous to grab a coffee and work at in the afternoon…decent wifi, low music, good lighting…bummer.
