In the News: Siri Berg Retrospective

••• “Siri Berg: In Color is the understated title of a nearly 50-year retrospective of the Abstract Expressionist Siri Berg, now at the Shirley Fiterman Art Center. Understated because this painter, who is 95 and still making art in her Soho studio, does not just work in color, she revels in it, creating canvases of unbounded exuberance and subtle beauty. Her treatment of color, often in alliance with shape (mostly circular and rectangular) and texture, can soothe even the casual viewer.” (I don’t know if the above work is in the show, but it’s on Berg’s website and I liked it.) —Tribeca Trib

••• Now open at the World Trade Center mall: Lobster Press, “Marc Forgione’s fast-casual concept in partnership with the lobster-direct company, Homarus. The signature dish is inspired by the chili lobster with Texas toast at his namesake restaurant in Tribeca. The menu includes lobster panini, and coconut lobster bisque.” I still don’t think there’s anywhere to sit and eat, though. —Eater
