A paint store called In Color is opening at 100 Lafayette, in the corner storefront at Walker. The Benjamin Moore half (above) is done; the other half will be devoted to upscale paint company Farrow & Ball. Word on the street has the shop debuting in the next few weeks.

In Color is another step in the gentrification of Chibeca,* as the Chinatown/Tribeca overlap is occasionally known. The shop joins the Todd Merrill furniture gallery, the hotel under construction at 396 Broadway (with Blue Bottle café), Canal Street Market, the residential entrance at Six Cortlandt Alley, S10 Training, the Mmuseumms, possibly a branch of Chicago’s Au Cheval restaurant, and a Best Western hotel.

*Starting now, I’m dropping the internal caps, à la Tribeca (rather than TriBeCa).
