Seen & Heard: Brazilian Gallery

••• The Espasso annex at 186 Franklin—which also has a lot of space downstairs—will evidently be sharing its space with São Paulo–based gallery Luciana Brito Galeria.

••• Just a reminder that long, loud Gay Pride events will be held on Pier 26 tomorrow (Friday) and Sunday.

••• And the Swedish Midsummer Festival is tomorrow from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wagner Park: “Enjoy this unique celebration of the summer solstice. Learn folk dances, make midsummer wreaths, and enjoy a parade, children’s games, and Swedish delicacies. Traditional music by Paul Dahlin and fiddlers from the American Swedish institute in Minneapolis.”

••• The other day I posted about how there are two retail spaces on the 30 Park Place plaza; there’s actually a third one (that makes two in the main building and one in the outbuilding). The appeal of the plaza, currently very high, will be greatly affected by whatever is allowed to commercialize it.

••• M. M. De Voe tweeted that Latin Social is opening at 75 Maiden Lane. “Hot new Latin bar concept in the Financial District,” says its Facebook page. “Specializing in cocktails and small plates with influences from Spain, Latin & Central America.”

  1. Roll and go/black burger at corner of Broadway and Franklin is out of business. Door has a note saying lease expired. The restaurant opened less than 5 years ago so it must be a short lease. With this and the American souvenir shop next door gone, does it mean the development of the L shape condo will start in the near future?
