Seen & Heard: Serafina Opens Next Week

••• Friends of Jennifer Blumin set up a fundraising drive to name a Hudson River Park bench in their honor; Blumin and her two kids tragically died in a plane crash in May. The goal was $47,00, and it has raised $73,274 so far.

••• The Roxy Hotel is getting into the ice-cream-cart game. Thanks to J. for the photo.

••• Serafina is opening on July 19. Strange photo illustration….

••• I was walking down Broadway the other day, when I noticed a group of people standing on the east side of the street, next to the closed-off part of Federal Plaza, looking at a piece of paper and the buildings across the way. When I saw that it was an architectural drawing they were looking at, I wondered whether 321 Broadway was up for redevelopment. But then I walked by again and took a better look. All I really gleaned was that the building on the drawing was L-shaped, wrapping around another building, so I assume they were discussing sightlines for the top floors of the 18-story building in the works at 59 Franklin/358 Broadway. I’d wager that the project is finally moving forward. Indeed, on July 7, amendments were made to the Department of Buildings permits for the new building.

••• The Link NYC wi-fi kiosk on the west side of Lafayette should probably have info on CB1 meetings.

••• 28 Liberty is showing Tom Hanks movies “free on the plaza every Thursday night starting on July 27, 2017, at 8 p.m. through the end of August.” From Splash:
