Seen & Heard: Il Mulino’s Tribeca Restaurant

••• It would seem that the Il Mulino restaurant coming to 361 Greenwich (formerly Tablao) will be an Il Mulino New York, which is the company’s main brand, with eight outposts (including one in the Village). I always figured it wouldn’t be an Il Mulino Prime steakhouse, since there’s one of those at W. Broadway and Grand.

••• If you were hoping that northwest Tribeca might get a break between construction projects, hope for something else: 440 Washington (a.k.a. 31 Desbrosses, at the southwest corner), appears to be gearing up to start now that 70 Vestry is nearing completion. This rendering has been posted at the site.

••• With its windows open, 111 Murray resembles a Microplane.

••• The TV show “Elementary” must be planning a big shoot on Wednesday—the flyers are at Broadway/Warren and W. Broadway/Reade. UPDATE: Now there are flyers that say it’s “Instinct,” the show starring Alan Cumming as a former CIA agent.

••• Jeff Nichols tweeted this quaint 1946 footage of the Holland Tunnel.

  1. Glad it is not another steakhouse. We already have too many.

  2. We go to the Prime one on W. Broadway somewhat regularly. They indicated exactly what was stated above. After the initial reports I thought maybe it was just moving to a new location, but they assured us they were not. This makes more sense in my opinion… Il Giglio was sort of a “distant cousin” of the Il Mulino franchise/group. May be ready to make another run at it here. Good addition.
