••• “Two-term former City Councilman Alan Gerson is ‘very serious’ about returning to the Lower Manhattan political stage. In his first public announcement, Gerson, 59, told the Tribeca Trib on Monday that he is considering a run for the state Senate seat abruptly vacated last week by Daniel Squadron.”

••• “Subterranean cartographers are bringing to light the dark, tangled truths buried under the streets,” reports Bloomberg, focusing on Alan Leidner “of the Fund for the City of New York, where he directs the nonprofit organization’s Center for Geospatial Innovation.” (It’s based in Tribeca.)

••• The New York Times reviews Made Nice, the fast-food restaurant from the Eleven Madison Park guys, and finds it lackluster. Made Nice is opening an outpost at 43 Dey.

••• The New York Post says that residents of 56 Leonard are “about to move in,” and considers how that might affect Mariah Carey.
