Seen & Heard: Ichimura’s New Name

••• “Do you know if Ichimura is still in business?” asked John. “I walked by Friday evening and it was closed. I tried to open the door to see it was locked.” Given the situation, I wouldn’t be surprised if the restaurant was taking a break—or worse. I’m out of town this week, but I’ll check into it when I get back. The former website, sushiichimuranyc.com, now redirects to 69leonardstreet.com, with 69 Leonard Street as the restaurant’s new name.

••• I’m excited about the 1 subway station on the upper level of the World Trade Center Oculus. It’s very space-age. Alas, it’s not scheduled to open till the end of 2018.

  1. I was thinking the same thing as I passed through the Oculus yesterday. I hope that you will be able to see the train passing through the station from inside the Oculus.
