Seen & Heard: Has Haus Closed?

••• Neat bird sighting.

••• Haus has been put back on the agenda for the Community Board 1 Licensing Committee meeting on February 14. The word is that the nightclub has closed, but CB1 wants to go on record about it. (The club’s phone number has been “changed, disconnected, or is no longer in service,” says a recording.)

••• Speaking of Community Board 1, I’m curious about what Brookfield Place has to say at tonight’s CB1 Battery Park City Committee, but not enough to attend. If anyone goes, please report back!

••• Locally owned soupmaker Good Stock is once again offering home delivery, exclusively to Tribeca. Nine frozen soups are available, with a $45 minimum. (“That’s about 3 quarts or 5 pints.”) Good Stock delivers every two weeks; for this period, order by this Thursday, February 8. P.S. Chicken stock is also available. if you cook with the supermarket stuff, you really should try the real thing.

••• “Succession” is shooting today and tomorrow in the Reade/Church area. At what point will the community insist that the city give us a break? Or demand something specific for the neighborhood in return?

••• If you can’t make it to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, 1803 might be the next best thing. The text at the top says it’s Feb. 9-13.

  1. Haus probably was not going to get a liquor license renewal anyway.

  2. Brookfield said they are not ready to share the plans for 225 Liberty Yet. At a BPCA board meeting a few months ago it was approved for them to redesign the inside lobby to allow for …more retail. All the rest of the presentation was about the sailing school plans for this year (they dropped the rates & redesigned the classroom space), some community sails and the plans for the marina. IGY says it will raise the rates on the commercial boats (but not the historic ones) to drop the rates for charters and private boats to attract more dock and drops.
