A Glimpse of What’s to Come

Before I started this site, I would never have peeked through the paper covering the window of a business about to open, especially if it involved climbing up on a standpipe, and I certainly wouldn’t have snapped a photo. People change, right? Here are glimpses of six Tribeca businesses in the works, some clearer than others (and all of the photos benefit from being enlarged, so click on them).

A salon run by hairstylist Lorraine Massey (above?), known for her expertise with curly hair, in the former Calypso St. Barth store at 137 W. Broadway.

················

FISH REPUBLIC
A seafood restaurant, in the former Blaue Gans space, from Efraim Bason of Out of the Blue, a wholesaler on Long Island.

················

NEW YORK VINTNERS
An “indoor farm”/cooking school/wine school from New York Vintners at 61-69 Barclay, including a large space in the basement.

················

Wine bar from the Atera folks, at 71 Worth; according to the paperwork in the window, the name will be Farra.

················

AU CHEVAL
A New York outpost of Chicago’s popular upscale “diner” at 79 Walker, with the entrance on Cortlandt Alley.

  1. Sad to see the vaunted Blaue Gans nee Le Zinc space devoid of its 80s gallery posters. We probably all should have eaten more schnitzel.

  2. Eric, do you know what’s happening with Los Tacos No.1? They seem to have halted construction. Best of luck for life in California. Tribeca will miss you!

  3. Hi, is Sant Ambroeus still scheduled to come to Brookfield, do you know? thank you !!
