Seen & Heard: Has Nunu Chocolates Closed?

••• Has Nunu Chocolates at the World Trade Center mall closed? It was dark the other day, and I’ve tried calling all three locations yesterday and the day before, but no one answers. There’s no mention on social media (or the door of the WTC location) of a post-holiday break, and an email went unanswered. The WTC store opened in March. UPDATE: “We stopped in on 12/26 and they were sold out of everything and did not know when they would be restocked,” says a reader. UPDATE: Good news! Another reader says the WTC store is open today.

••• Two restaurants on Chambers—Sophie’s Cuban Cuisine and Blue Spoon Coffee—are closed for a bit of remodeling.

••• TribecaMom noticed that Playday—”indoor children’s creative play space”—mentions a forthcoming Tribeca location on its website, but when I called to find out more, I learned that the company is still looking and there’s no lease signed yet.

••• Exactly whom is this arrow at Greenwich and Chambers for? It’s been there, blinking, for a while now.

••• I don’t know which building is under construction south of the World Trade Center, but it’ll be very visible from Church Street. I’d go check, but my senioritis is flaring up.

  1. 68 Trinity Place?

  2. Nunu is open. Just walked by it. (I work in 4 WTC.)

  3. 74 Trinity is the new office tower being developed by Trinity Church. The base will include a Community Center and Church offices, while the top will host high end office space. The tower has already topped out. It’s going to be a beautiful addition to the neighborhood.
