Seen & Heard: Kori’s Status Remains Unclear

••• After Kori abruptly closed for renovations last month, Mruptight noted that the restaurant’s Yelp page says it’ll reopen on January 11. When I checked the other day, reservations were available as of January 12. When I checked again today, that date was pushed back to February 1. UPDATE: Kori’s status has no cleared up considerably: “Just walked by Kori, they have an available for lease sign in the window today,” commented John.

••• According to a Downtown Alliance newsletter, Century 21 now offers made-to-measure suits.

••• From B.: “I walked by the St John’s Terminal [550 Washington] this weekend and I see that the northern portion is being enclosed in scaffolding. This is the first step to demolishing that portion of the building. I imagine demo will probably start within the next couple of months. As you are aware, the northern portion will be torn down and replaced with residential building(s), and the span over West Houston will also be removed. The southern portion will be renovated and expanded to become the new Google office building.”

••• The Community Board 1 discussion of the Regal Battery Park Cinemas liquor-license application was moved to February.

••• From K: “Very disappointed that the bid date for the Elizabeth Berger Plaza was pushed out to May.” I’m glad to hear it’s still happening.

  1. Just walked by Kori, they have an available for lease sign in the window today.

    • Seriously? First we lose the one on Maiden Lane and now Kori? I guess we will try GunBae, but we have the worst luck in closing our favorite restaurants.
