More popular for delivery than for dining in, Il Mattone serves a standard menu of modern inexpensive Italian—pastas, pizzas, sandwiches—to families and those working late across the street at Citigroup. The room is nothing remarkable, but the paned windows on two sides are appealing and the outdoor tables are a pleasant place to spend a summer evening. November 2012: Il Mattone closed as a result of Hurricane Sandy and says it’ll be reopening in a new location.
