There’s a Martha Stewart vibe at Made Fresh Daily, from the homey-but-spare decor, to the fresh, all-American menu, to the handful of knickknacks and flowers available for sale. The full name includes “Bake Shop” at the end, but the real star here—especially in an area not full of good options—is lunch, which includes robust salads and intriguing sandwiches, with daily specials. (Best of all, Made Fresh Daily is open weekends.) The room has seating for about 30, but it’s almost always warm inside—perhaps a result of the open kitchen in the rear—so you may want to snag the bench outside or head over to the East River Park. (Note: The breakfast menu is pretty appealing too, with hangover-friendly egg dishes and healthier smoothies.)
