Offering sushi and an array of hot and cold dishes, the menu at Nobu Next Door is basically the same as at Nobu proper, but Next Door is easier to pop into. (It used to take reservations only for large groups, but that’s no longer the case.) The room is bring-your-own-lamp dark, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a Japanese restaurant that has been turned into a nightclub; downtempo electronica adds to the clubby vibe. This is one of those rare restaurants where you might not want to sit on the banquette, given that it’s basically a flat wooden bench.
