Paul’s Cocktail Lounge, called Paul’s Baby Grand when it first opened, is Paul Sevigny’s cool kids’ hangout in the Roxy, as the Tribeca Grand hotel is now known. The decor is Palm Beach-on-acid maximalism, and the attitude, particularly at the door, can be ferocious.
A lot of the Yelp reviews are calling it out for a rude and supposedly racist door policy. (I can’t vouch for or against that as I haven’t tried the door….but I am a regular at the Roxy for the jazz side of life, in lobby and Django).
