The sake bar atop B Flat specializes in sake, shochu, and beer made in Japan. The space is stylish and attractive, with industrial fixtures and a cozy atmosphere. A map of Japan painted on the rear wall show the country’s prefectures—corresponding numbers in the sake menu are to help amateurs remember what they’re tried. As for food, Shigure serves an intriguing array of “Japanese tapas”; they’re better than you might expect for what’s billed as a bar (try the fried chicken, and don’t be afraid to let your hosts choose the rest for you). The overall vibe is very cool—great music—and mellow, at least early in the evening.
