Plus: Paid tickets to opening week at a certain memorial; celeb hijinks at the Tribeca Grand; theater reviews; YouTube stars buy on Lispenard; New York Law School; Seaport Museum update; graffiti artist's gallery show.

•••”Paid tours, being offered by five companies, are now the only way for visitors to see the 9/11 memorial in the first 10 days it is open because all of the free online tickets for those days have already been snapped up. [...] The reason the memorial gave some of the free passes to private tour companies, rather than opening more of them up for public reservations, is that the companies have agreed to follow the city’s plan for reducing bus traffic in lower Manhattan after the memorial opens.” (DNAinfo)

••• The New York Times looks at the economics of law schools, focusing on New York Law School: “N.Y.L.S. is ranked in the bottom third of all law schools in the country, but with tuition and fees now set at $47,800 a year, it charges more than Harvard.” All that lighting doesn’t pay for itself, you know.

••• The New York Times reviews Oscar Wilde’s Salome at the Flea. And also Julius by Design at the Access Theater.

••• Celeb hijinks at the Tribeca Grand: “New York Ranger Brad Richards panicked when he thought someone hacked his Twitter account this week, but was relieved to learn it was just Tommy Lee having some fun. Tampa native Richards stayed at the Tribeca Grand hotel”—you may recall that I heard Richards was looking at real estate in the neighborhood—”and logged onto a computer in his room to tweet. When Lee stayed in the same room a few days later and booted up the computer, he saw Richards’ account was still open and sent messages out under his handle. ‘Im a dork!’ the rocker tweeted along with other messages before letting Richards in on the joke. ‘Signing out for ya!! I’m a nice hacker!!! hey dude btw . . . it’s Tommy Lee!!! hahah!!’” (New York Post)

••• “Aaron and Ayla Wilhelm, who made waves with one of the original crazy wedding dance video, just bought a home for $1.98 million. That’s slightly more than the 1,398,714 people who have watched the video of their first dance on YouTube. The 1,800-square-foot Tribeca loft is located at 45 Lispenard Street.” (New York Observer via Curbed)

••• “The Seaport Museum New York may be able to stay afloat after all. Advocates said they were heartened after holding a first meeting Friday with the Museum of the City of New York, which has expressed interest in taking over the Seaport Museum as an annex. ‘It was a wonderfully productive initial meeting,’ said David Sheldon, a longtime Seaport Museum volunteer who spoke on behalf of Save Our Seaport.” (DNAinfo)

••• NY1 profiles graffiti artist Michael “Mr. Kaves” McLeer, whose first solo gallery show is at Hionas Gallery.

••• The New York Times hangs out with the cancan dancers who kicked up their heels at Cercle Rouge’s Bastille Day party.

The truth about Tribeca’s stores, however, is that charity isn’t the best reason to shop at them—one of the coolest things about our neighborhood is that we haven’t been overtaken by chains (yet). So as you enter the final stretch of gift-buying season, I encourage you to visit the businesses listed below. Having stopped by each and every one over the past few weeks, I can say with authority—and a bit of pride—that there’s something here for everyone with a Platinum card.

P.S. Tell ‘em Tribeca Citizen sent you!

••• A CBS drama called “Blue Bloods” is shooting on Duane, Reade, Church, and Broadway today. It stars Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg (that’s him in the photo, actually), and Bridget Moynihan.

Plus: What's happening to the TAMA space; a restaurant hostess vents; new museum café; CSA farm festival (and winter fruit share); Khushi soap deal; TRX studio details; Tribeca Beauty Spa deals.

••• A reader reports that he stopped by Duane Park restaurant on a recent Sunday night and none other than Jim Carrey got up to sing a little jazz. First Lady Gaga, now Jim Carrey. No clue what the third in that series would be….

••• Now that TAMA Gallery is closed—long live TAMA Studios!—the doctor’s office next door is taking the back lefthand side of the top floor, while a tea company is taking the front of the top floor for an office. The back right side and the lower level have yet to be rented. It sounds like a strange space, with an entrance on Staple. Maybe a restaurant?

••• If you have the hots for the hostess of a neighborhood restaurant, the feeling isn’t mutual: “Doctor Garrett is a good looking guy. He’s fit and works out. Muscular. He’s a doctor, too. He lives in Tribeca in one of those apartments that I only dream of someday renting. He can afford it because he’s a doctor. He’s 37 years old. He’s a doctor. Smart. Did I mention he’s a doctor? Doctor Garrett is also 100% obnoxious. And 100% my stalker.” There’s a lot more where that came from. (Confessions of an Ingenue)

••• Esprit Events Catering has opened a café at the Museum of Jewish Heritage. Expect “delicious meals and snacks for breakfast, lunch, and early dinners before public programs. Highlights of the menu include: made-to-order breakfast burritos, macaroni and cheese, hand-rolled sushi, soups and quiches, assorted paninis and entrée salads, freshly baked croissants, and café lattes and cappuccinos. All dishes are carefully prepared in accordance with Jewish dietary laws and certified Cholov Israel by the Orthodox Union. The café serves top quality dairy items.”

••• From Annika K. Martin: “Just thought I’d share this info about the Tribeca-based CSA I help run—our farm is having a Harvest Festival. The festival is open to the public and is a great way to see the farm where our CSA’s veggies come from, as well as spend a fun day in the countryside with fun activities for young and old. A bus will be leaving from Great Performances (Hudson/Vandam) for those who don’t have/rent a car. My CSA (Downtown CSA) is based in North Tribeca—our distribution point is the 92Y Tribeca on Hudson Street. Our summer veggie season is almost over, but we are offering a winter fruit share with fruit from Red Jacket Orchards. People can email me [csadowntown@gmail.com] for more info about getting on the list for next summer, or about signing up for fruit this winter.”

••• Buy three Khushi soaps and get one for free. The code is SOAP.

••• Classes at B East—the new TRX studio sharing space the same floor as Downtown Dance Factory—start Oct. 18; you can review the schedule online as soon as Oct. 14. There’ll be TRX and TRX Boxing.

••• Spa Week deals at Tribeca Beauty Spa: 45-minute Dream Massage $50 (reg. $80); 45-minute Tribeca Signature Facial $50 (reg. $90); 45-minute Brazilian Wax and Pedicure $50 (reg. $95). Valid Oct. 11–22.
