••• From Trinity Wall Street: “Trinity Church, founded by Royal Charter of England in 1696, will be a large-screen viewing location for the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. Trinity welcomes one and all from its Lower Manhattan neighborhood and beyond as it celebrates the royal wedding and the parish’s centuries-old ties to England and the worldwide Anglican Communion. The screening is free and open to the public.” The fun starts at 5 a.m.

••• I was walking down Jay Street today when I saw that a Tribeca Film Festival movie called Challenging Impossibility has opened a pop-up gallery. This New York Times blurb was on its website: “Feats of Strength Pop-Up Museum (Friday through Thursday) World-famous athletes will attend screenings, hold lectures, sign books and give informal talks on fitness and health, strength training, meditation, the mind-body connection and the teachings of the fitness guru Sri Chinmoy at this museum. The events coincide with the premiere of ‘Challenging Impossibility’ at the Tribeca Film Festival on Friday; meet the cast, including the Olympic sprinter Carl Lewis and the former New York Jet and bodybuilder Mike Katz, at the museum on Saturday. Hours: daily from noon to 8 p.m. 18 Jay, 212-380-8153; free.” The poster in the window says it’s open noon to 6 p.m., FYI, through May 2.

••• Nili Lotan has partnered with J. Crew. Not sure what the partnership entails beyond pretty photos on J. Crew’s website and the ability to purchase certain Nili Lotan pieces there.

••• From Soho Rep: “99¢ tickets will be back for this Sunday the 24th only! They’ll be up for sale at the box office at 7 p.m—but only 16 are available so come early!”

••• Get 20% off all designers at Edon Manor starting April 25. Use code spring20. (Not sure if this is valid in-store, too.) Free shipping for orders over $500, but once you’re buying this level of accessories, are you really worried about that?

Monday
Shelby Lynne is back at City Winery, this time with Findlay Browne. I had to miss last week’s show—it’s a long story—but I heard she was excellent.

Tuesday
For one day only, you can buy Girl Scout Cookies at the World Financial Center. ••• O.J. Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clarke reads at the Mysterious Bookshop. ••• Whole Foods Tribeca hosts a talk on gluten-free cooking.

Wednesday
Opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival: a screening of a documentary about the making of an Elton John/Leon Russell record, with a performance afterward. Info on getting in is here. ••• At 92YTribeca, a screening of Vinicius, a documentary about Brazilian “poet, playwright, critic, diplomat, composer, singer and lyricist” Vinicius de Moraes.

Thursday
Fame is at the Tribeca Film Festival Drive-In: “Come early to show off your best moves onstage at Tribeca’s Got Talent, an all-ages, open-call song and dance ‘competition’ where everyone is a winner.” (If everyone’s a winner, no one’s a winner.) ••• Duane Park restaurant’s magic show, Cabaret des Illusion.

Friday
When the Drum Is Beating is at the Tribeca Film Festival Drive-In; plus, there’s a concert by the Haitian-Caribbean-Jazz fusion band Septentrional. ••• John Wesley Harding’s Cabinet of Wonders is at City Winery. ••• 92YTribeca’s Death and the Lady series looks at films wherein “women have encounters (erotic or otherwise) with Death incarnate.” ••• Also at 92YTribeca: Foxes.

Sunday
Trinity Wall Street celebrates Easter: Expect scavenger and egg hunts, a puppet parade, the Easter Bunny, and more.

As for ongoing events, you might consider…
Soho Rep’s “Born Bad,” by Debbie Tucker Green, has received outstanding reviews. It was extended by two weeks, but it has to close May 7.

“Mine are bigger than yours!”

••• Blogger Jinhwafication visited Jung Sik Dang in Seoul, and she says the food is basically “what you’re going to taste at [the] Tribeca post [in the old Chanterelle space], chef [Jung Sik] Yim confirmed me in an email.” She runs down the entire meal, which sounds extremely interesting. The photo, for instance, is of a dish called Picking Your Salads: “This is an edible pot of salads. A waiter warns me. ‘You have to wash your hands after this one, would you mind?’ he asks. Of course not. First of all, variety of greens is absolutely fresh. Edible soil that holds greens is white foam of coconut & citrus yuzu. That rich creamy texture is almost like whipped cream. For greens’ well being, they spray lime essence oil. That works as salad dressing. I had to restrain myself from not digging the coconut foam all the way down. Absolute pleasure start.”

••• “Language is both a source of artillery and the substance of impenetrable defenses in the remarkable play ‘Born Bad’ by the British writer Debbie Tucker Green at Soho Rep. Running just an hour, this intense, stylized drama about poisonous family secrets hits you like a triple shot of espresso. You leave feeling slightly shaken: excited by the play’s formal invention, moved by its coiled emotional power.” (The New York Times)

••• “After years as a designer for hotels, Jenn [Mohr, founder of Sniff pet candles] saw her fair share of aromatherapy candles. But none her dogs, Rhodesian Ridgeback Rufus and Chihuahua mix Jr., liked as much as she did. So, she quit her 9 to 5 and started making all-natural candles in blends specifically tailored to pooches. ‘The standard ingredient in most candles is paraffin, which is a really toxic element. And most wicks contain lead. I didn’t want to burn the average candle around my pets,’ she says. Field of Dreams is lavender-oil based to help relieve stress, and lemongrass-based Friends to the Rescue keeps away mosquitoes and other pests. Jenn created Fart & Away to deodorize after ‘oops’ moments because she says, ‘Rufus has always been on the stinky side.’” (New York Post)

••• I’ve been holding off on a New Kid on the Block post about Kanlo, the teahouse/shop at Harrison and Staple, because its furniture had yet to arrive. Today, I went to write it anyway—the shop opened in December!—and when I heard about what was still in store by the end of April, I decided to wait. But <del>teat</del> tea!
