The Firehouse Is Going to Be in “Ghostbusters” After All

The initial word was that the Ladder 8 firehouse at 14 N. Moore—one of Tribeca’s bigger tourist attractions—was not going to appear in the Ghostbusters reboot (a.k.a. “Flapjack” on the flyers posted everywhere) currently in production. (Or at least he director was noncommittal about it.) This morning proved otherwise: The crew has been shooting a scene where four women hustle across N. Moore and into the firehouse. And the ground floor of the new 11 N. Moore condominium has been converted into a fake restaurant called Vestia Tribeca, so we can deduce that the setting is not being used to dummy for somewhere else. I couldn’t tell for sure from across Varick whether the women were the stars—Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and Kate McKinnon—but that looks like Melissa McCarthy on the left, doesn’t it? P.S. Shots of the film’s Ecto-1 and Ecto-2 vehicles are here.

P.P.S. Ghostbusters News says this is the final day or filming.

  1. Here are the same actresses in a promo photo on the website of NY Magazine: http://www.vulture.com/2015/08/everything-we-know-about-ghostbusters-3.html

The blonde in the tan jacket is probably playing the role of “real estate broker” :)

  2. Doesn’t look like Melissa McCarthy to me.

  3. Stuck in a miserable construction jam on I-95 Thursday night, we came around a huge truck to see one of the new Ecto vehicles being towed north, back to Boston I guess. It reminded me of how I used to pass the firehouse on Spring Street daily on my walk to work and see the original hearse, which was parked there all the time. The fire house (which now houses the Fire Museum) sported the now-familiar flag.
