COVID-19: These five weeks in pictures

The neighborhood has never looked quite like this before, so here is another installment of the past weeks in pictures, this time from pro photog and Tribecan Robert Ripps. He found evidence of the new normal at rush hour, on bikes, at Washington Market Park and at the Greenmarket. (If you click on one, you can scroll through as a slideshow.)

Ripps’ most current project, Negativityness, which you can see on Instagram, was displayed in the windows of the Western Union building on West Broadway earlier this year. His first monograph, Urban Trees, was published in November 2014, and his first book “She’s Out There! The Next Generation of Presidential Candidates” was published in 2009 and featured portraits of 35 young future female leaders of America. Ripps has won awards from the PDN Photo/Design Awards and the PDN/Nikon Self Promotion Awards, has also received a film grant from the Polaroid Corporation, and his work was recently chosen to be included in the American Photography 36 annual award book.

  1. Great pictures….

  2. I was hoping for less puddles and more nudes.

  3. you sure are good with that camera.

  4. Nice photos. Someone needs to tell the farmer at Millport Dairy masks don’t work if they don’t cover nose AND mouth.

  5. Nice walking tour from Brooklyn Heights to Tribeca in yesterday’s NY Times, with two Tribeca architects

  6. Beautiful photos Robert! Especially loved the reflection in the puddle!
